My Story
My name is Angelina, and I am a 30 year old mother of one and a self-proclaimed guru of beauty & skin care products. Since 2002, I have been actively treating my skin each and every day with the goal of preventing wrinkles, keeping my glowing skin tone, and find the best skin care products. I’ve used products from all sorts of brands, like ProActiv, Arbonne, Skinceuticals, EliteSkin, LifeCell, Estee Lauder, Oro Gold Cosmetics, and many, many more.
Having a close friend who is a dermatologist, and chatting with her on a regular basis, I kept hearing the message of “start using anti-aging products, such as eye creams NOW.” At first, I have to admit I ignored these tips, and I continued to spend my money on beauty products instead of anti-aging products. However, after I turned 29, I finally realized that there was something I was waking up with each and every morning that was making me look EXHAUSTED.
The dreaded “Dark Circles” had started to form under my eyes, and by golly were they DARK.
After deciding I needed help fast, I scoured the Internet for the best eye cream. I spent thousands of dollars (correction, my husband spent thousands of dollars….even worse) on eye creams, eye serums and eye gels that all talked about how they could cure dark circles. What did several thousand dollars and 2 years bring me? ………….
………..Absolutely nothing, unless you want to count broken promises, countless letdowns, and a wastebasket full of products that didn’t work. I was scared to death that dark circles would haunt me forever. I almost gave up.
I tried every angle. I tried the herbal cream route. What a scam that was. I tried the “organic” cream route. No results! Then, earlier this year, I stumbled into something that looked so scientific that I thought I needed a prescription for it. I swear, I thought I had to be at some pharmaceutical website when I surfed into EliteSerum.com.
Turns out, this whole scientific approach is called Cosmeceuticals. It’s basically combining science with skin care. Well, if you read this far into the site, you have probably read the positive eye cream reviews I’ve written about the various products I’ve sampled over the years. There are many eye creams out there claiming to be the best, but I’ve been there, done that, and tried a lot of different brands in the process. What I feel makes the best eye cream is an anti aging solution that also works as a treatment for eye wrinkles, another common aging concern for most of us who are north of age 30. If I can effectively reduce eye wrinkles, puffy bags, and dark circles, all while working at some level of my skin to promote healthier skin, I’m a happy camper.
The Elite Serum combines scientific ingredients such as Haloxyl®, Eyeliss™, and Argireline®. These clinically-tested ingredients are obtained through working with a French company, called Sederma. I’ve tried quite a few eye creams (or serums or gels….depending on the viscosity) that don’t have any of the aforementioned ingredients, and I’ve always had less success. Those ingredients are pretty impressive to me.
I initially set up this site to talk about that one product, but since I really like blogging, as well as continued education in skin care, I decided to keep up with the industry and continue to highlight the best eye creams out there. I plan on updating this website quite often with information on the eye cream industry.
For eye cream companies out there, I am willing to be open-minded with advertisers. I’ll review your product in depth and even post my opinion if you are willing to provide products. No guarantees on the successes or failures however as I am objective and opinionated. But I’m a pretty fair person and I think you will find I’m not one to quickly slam a product. I know every company out there is trying hard to help consumers like me to look younger.
